Weird and Wonderful maths problem

Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day.
Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant?

How i solved this problem: I use multiplication

Answer:365 x 3= 1,095

  1. Heya Shriya,

Well done for finishing another SLJ related activity, 'Weird and Wonderful', and for solving this maths problem. I'm pleased to see that you've included the question in this post so that your readers understand what it is you are talking about and what exactly you are doing.

Don't forget that we need to attribute images that we use. As you've taken this from the SLJ programme, I'll let you know how you can find the address: first you right click the image and select "Search Google for Image" — a new tab will open up with Google and the picture of the cactus, click on this image and it will show you all of the places online where this image has been used. Click on the original image, which in this case is here: http://namibiandesert.weebly.com/flora--fauna.html

Now that we know the location of where this image is from, we can give it a name such as "Saguaro Cactus" and include a link for where we found this image (mentioned above) and name the author, or in this case, the website: Namib Desert.
I hope that this makes sense. Please feel free to ask questions if you're confused!

    Cheers,

    Jordan

    2. Mōrena Shriya!

Thanks for the comment, and of course you can! Do you know how to make it a link so that it doesn't just have the address sprawled across your post?

      Cheers,

      Jordan

  3. Hello Shriya,
Well done for quickly solving the problem without any issues. You really make maths look easy!

How did you solve 3 x 365? I would love to find out your strategy on how you do it to recommend to other people. Why did you use multiplication?

You could maybe talk about the different cacti, and maybe where you can find cacti. Make your post a bit more exciting by adding in more info to teach even more.

    What is your favourite plant?
