Swimming Reflection
From Monday 16th - 26th August, Edmund Hillary School has been going to Massey Park Pools to learn new things in water. There were 3 instructors that took groups to each area of the pool for different lessons.
In today's lesson, those who were swimming used life jackets as they learned new things throughout the lesson.
These lessons will help out in any emergencies that contain water.
Introduction:
“Woohoo, it’s the day I have been waiting for, CAMP!!” I bursted shouting as I woke up. I couldn’t believe that it was my first camp. I couldn’t wait to go to camp with all of my friends and explore the open and wide places.
First Paragraph:
Firstly, I woke up and got ready for camp. As I got ready, I smelt something very tasty and couldn’t wait to see what it was. I saw pancakes with syrup dripping from the sides and water to keep me hydrated. After eating and getting full, I got my new shoes and put them on. I was so happy to go away from home so I didn't need to do any chores. I said goodbye to everyone in my family and gave kisses. I was so excited that I was screaming in my head. I got in the car with my parents and drove off to school. As I got to the front gate I took everything out and said bye to my parents. My parents thought I would miss them but in reality I didn’t miss them.
Second Paragraph:
Secondly, I was finally free, “YAY”. I saw my friends and we all started to imagine how it would be when we go to camp. “ Hopefully we are all in the same cabin.” Elisha said to Metuakore, Cristyn and me. The bell rang and suddenly all four of us ( Metuakore, Cristyn, Elisha and me ) got so much energy. We ran like cheetahs trying to race each other. As we (Room 1, 9, 10 ) got to the hall with all our belongings. As I sat down I was hearing some people saying that “Camp Adair is haunted.” I got goosebumps on my arms and chills down my spine but I knew I wouldn’t be scared.
Third Paragraph:
Thirdly, Finally after sitting down in the hall, we got some fresh mist of air. I was kinda getting bored since the bus was taking class by class. It felt like 2 hours for me sitting down talking to my best friends. I saw a huge vehicle coming and thought “it might be another truck” but no it was our bus. Finally we got on the nice and high bus and drove to Camp Adair. The view was really creepy because the road was high on the cliff and the road had only one way to drive but we all sang songs to keep calm.
Fourth and Last Paragraph:
Lastly, we made it to camp and let me tell you something, it was so big that I glazed at the big field and my mouth dropped wide open. I got off the bus and said thank you to the bus driver because he drove everyone to camp. My bag was so heavy that it felt like three hippos on my back. There were so many fun things to do and I was glad that I came. I was excited to see my cabin. I got to my cabin with half of room 1, 9 and 10 girls. It was pretty fun hanging out with everyone and getting together.
Conclusion:
After settling everything and putting my three weighted hippo bags under my bed, I went to eat. My stomach was growling like tigers angry. I enjoyed my time at camp. My favorite part about camp was the fun activities and getting together.
